Important Temple Etiquette in Bali

Bali is known as the Island of a Thousand Temples. Visiting these sacred sites is a highlight, but it's crucial to be respectful of the local culture and traditions.

Dos and Don'ts

  • DO wear a Sarong and Sash: Both men and women must cover their legs and waist. Most temples afford these for rent.
  • DON'T enter if bleeding: Women on their period are strictly prohibited from entering the temple grounds.
  • DO respect the prayer: Do not walk in front of people who are praying.
  • DON'T climb on sacred structures: Never sit or climb on walls, shrines, or statues.

Our drivers always carry spare sarongs and can guide you on proper etiquette at each location.
